Add a workspace member

Purpose

Reza already has an Agentum account, and Sara wants him on the team without sharing a password. Give an existing account a Seat in the selected Team or Organization workspace.

Before you start

  • Select a team or organization workspace (see "Switch workspaces and manage access").
  • You need permission to manage members. Owners and Admins have it by default.
  • The workspace plan must include workspace sharing and have a free Seat. Removed Seats do not count toward the limit.
  • Ask the person to register first and send you their platform username (3 to 40 characters). Their Telegram username is a different thing.
  • Only an Owner can add another Owner. An Admin can add Admins and Members, and cannot grant more access than they have themselves.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, choose "Workspace administration" under "Workspace", and stay on the "Members" tab.
  2. Choose "Add member". A dialog opens with the note that Seats connect existing accounts to this workspace.
  3. Type the person's username in "Platform username".
  4. Under "Baseline role" pick Member, Admin or (for Owners only) Owner.
  5. Choose "Save". The button reads "Saving…" while it works.

Expected result

The dialog closes and the person appears in the Members table with the status "Active". They can now select this workspace from their own account menu. If the person had been removed from this workspace earlier, the same Seat becomes active again. Nothing is copied from your own account.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
"No account was found. Ask the person to sign up first." Check the spelling of the platform username, or ask the person to register.
"This account already has a seat in this workspace." The person is already Active, Invited or Disabled here. Find them in the table and use the pencil button to change them instead.
"This workspace has reached its seat limit." Remove a member you no longer need, or ask a billing owner to raise the Seat limit with the plan.
"This workspace needs an active subscription." Ask the workspace owner to restore an active subscription. The plans page offers upgrades, not renewal of the same plan.
"Only an owner can do this." Choose Admin or Member, or ask an Owner to add the person.
"Add member" is missing You are not allowed to manage members in this workspace, or it is a personal workspace, which has exactly one Seat.
Saving shows another error Close the dialog and check the Members table before trying again, because the person may already have been added.
