Models
Purpose
Kian wants one model for everyday chats and another for the shop's pictures. Choose which model Agentum uses by default for each type of task, or leave it on Automatic.
Before you start
Sign in and select your workspace. This setting is saved for your seat in the current workspace.
Steps
- Open the account menu in the sidebar and choose Settings (or use the Open settings shortcut listed under Keyboard).
- Under Customization, select Models.
- Under Default models, each row is a type of task and shows the model currently chosen, "Automatic" when you have not chosen one, or "Unavailable model" if the saved model is no longer available.
- Select a row, for example Language model. The page opens a list called Available models.
- Choose Automatic to use the platform default, or choose one of the models listed. The choice saves as soon as you select it.
- To narrow a long list, type in "Search models". If nothing matches, the list says "No models match your search." (clear or change the text). Select "More models" to show the rest of the models. Each model can show icons for what it can do (for example vision, tools or reasoning) or that it uses your quota quickly.
- Go back to the Models list. To add a model of your own, select Add model (see the Model article).
Expected result
Your choice is saved for that type of task. The types are:
| Type of task | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Language model | Chats, writing, and general text tasks |
| Vision | Understand images shared in conversations |
| Image generation | Create and edit images |
| Speech to text | Transcribe voice and audio |
| Text to speech | Generate spoken audio |
| Live voice | Real-time voice conversations |
| OCR | Extract text from images and documents |
| Embeddings | Search and semantic retrieval |
| Tool calling | Select and run connected tools |
For Image generation, Automatic follows the chat model. Only enabled models that support the type of task are listed.
The saved defaults for Vision, Embeddings and Tool calling are shown here, but choosing a model for these three currently has no effect on how Agentum works.
These defaults do not replace a model already selected in a conversation or a custom agent's model. New web chats may start with your first usable favorite or previous model selection; check the model shown in the message box.
A shield marks a private model. Where Data Privacy Mode applies (see Use Data Privacy Mode), models that are not private are greyed out with "Not hosted in Iran", and a default that is not private is not used: Agentum uses the first private model instead.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The list says "No compatible models" | No available model supports that type of task. Add a model with that capability using Add model, or ask a workspace owner or admin. |
| A row says "Unavailable model" | The saved model is no longer available. Choose Automatic or an available model for that task. If saving still fails, clear other unavailable defaults too, because all saved defaults are checked together. |
| "Some settings could not be loaded." | Select "Retry". |
| A change does not stick | A dialog titled Error explains why saving failed. Select Close, check your connection and try again. Reopen the page to see the saved value. |
| A model is greyed out with "Not hosted in Iran" | Data Privacy Mode applies to this workspace, so only private models can be chosen. |
