Find and manage previous chats
Open in AgentumPurpose
Neda remembers helping a customer with a warranty question last Tuesday, and she needs that answer again. Find a saved conversation, reopen it, and rename, move, share or delete it.
Before you start
Select the workspace that contains the conversation. Chats are kept per workspace.
Steps
- Open "Chats" in the sidebar. The page lists your conversations, newest activity first, each with its title, the start of the first message and its date. A small dot marks a chat with unread messages, and a spinning activity indicator (its screen-reader label is "Running...") marks a reply that is still being written. More chats load as you scroll down.
- Type in "Search chats" at the top of the page to filter the list. Clearing the box brings back the full list. In the sidebar, "Recents" shows your latest chats, and "Search" (Ctrl+K, or Cmd+K on a Mac) opens "Search chats and projects", which looks through chat titles and messages and project names. Select "Show all chats matching" the words you typed to open them in the full list.
- Select a row to open the chat. Point at a row (or focus it and press Shift+F10) to reveal its options button, "Options for [chat title]".
- In the options menu:
- "Share": opens the link dialog described in Share a saved chat.
- "Rename": opens "Rename chat". Type a name in "Chat name" (up to 120 characters) and select "Save".
- "Add to project" or "Move to project": opens a dialog where you pick a project from "Choose a project" and select "Save". "Remove from project" takes the chat out of its project.
- "Delete": opens "Delete chat?". Select "Delete chat" to remove the chat and its saved short-term memory for good, or "Cancel" to keep it.
- You can also manage a chat from inside it. Select the three-dot options button at the top of the chat for "Rename chat", "Move to project", "Remove from project" and "Delete chat". In the sidebar, the "Conversation actions" button on a row in "Recents" offers "Share", "Rename", "Move to project" and "Delete". Moving to a project is unavailable for Work chats.
- In a long chat (more than four of your own messages), point at the marks along the page edge to see the list "User messages". Select one to jump to that message.
Expected result
The chat opens with its full history. Renaming or moving a chat does not start a new reply. Deleting a chat cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The list does not load | Select "Retry". If it still fails, reload the page. |
| Search shows nothing | The message "No chats or projects match" means there is no match. Try a shorter or different word, or clear the box. |
| "Move to project" or "Add to project" is dimmed | You have no active projects yet. Create one in "Projects". |
| "A Work conversation's project cannot change. Start a new conversation in the project you want." | Chats started in Work mode stay in the project they began in. |
| "A site's conversation stays with its site. To remove it, delete the site from Sites." | A chat that builds a site is deleted together with the site, from "Sites". |
| "Pin chat" and "Archive" are dimmed | These two menu items are unavailable. |
| A rename or delete fails | Read the message in the dialog and try again. The dialog stays open so you do not lose your text. |
