Set or change your password

Purpose

Before she invites her team into the shop's workspace, Sara wants her own sign-in locked down. Set a password for your account, or replace the one you already have. It is the password for signing in to your own account, not a workspace password.

Before you start

Sign in to your own account. If you already have a password, have the current one ready.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Login options. Under "Password", select "Change password". If your account has no password yet, the row says "Set password" instead.
  2. If the page shows "Current password", enter it. Accounts without a password do not see this field.
  3. Enter a new password of 10 to 200 characters in "New password", then enter the same password in "Confirm new password".
  4. Select "Save" at the top of the page and wait for the page to close.

Expected result

The fields are cleared and you return to Settings. Use the new password the next time you sign in with a password.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
"Save" is disabled Fill in every field on the page. Wait if a save is already in progress.
"New passwords do not match." Type exactly the same password in "New password" and "Confirm new password".
"Use 10–200 characters for the new password." or a browser hint about length Make the new password at least 10 characters long (the field stops at 200).
"Check your password and confirmation." Re-enter both new-password fields and try again.
"The current password is incorrect." Check the current password and try again.
"Unable to change password." Keep the page open and try again when your connection is back.
