Chat Automation plugins and tools
Purpose
Neda wants the agent to look up an order's status for customers, and to ask her before it uses any of the shop's plugins. Choose which plugins and tools your agent may use when it replies for you in Chat Automation.
Before you start
Telegram must be connected, and the plugins must be connected from the Plugins page. Only tools already allowed for your default agent can be used here.
Steps
- Open Settings, then "Telegram", then "Chat Automation", then "Plugins & tools".
- Under "Chat Automation plugins", search with "Search plugins" if needed (search text can contain up to 200 characters), then select a connected plugin. Each row shows how many tools are active.
- On the plugin page, turn on "Allow [plugin]".
- Under "Allowed tools", tick the tools the agent may use for automated replies. Tools that are disabled for your default agent are greyed out and say "Disabled for your default agent". Use "Search tools" to find one (also up to 200 characters). More tools load as you scroll.
Expected result
Choices are saved at once. Automated replies can use only the ticked tools. Every plugin tool call requires your approval, whatever you chose under "Tool approval" in Settings, "Plugins", because a plugin's tools are never treated as read-only. "Always ask" also asks before Agentum's own read-only tools. An automated reply waits up to 2 minutes for your approval in the web app, then goes on without that tool.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "No connected plugins" | Connect plugins from the Plugins page first. |
| A tool is greyed out | Check, in this order: that the plugin is connected, that the list has finished loading, that "Allow [plugin]" is on here, and then that the tool is allowed for your default agent in Settings, "Plugins". |
| "No matching tools" | Change or clear the search text. |
| "No tools available" | The plugin offers no tools right now. |
| "Some settings could not be loaded." | Select "Retry". |
| "Plugin not connected" | Connect the plugin from the Plugins page. |
| The page shows only a connection row | Connect Telegram in "Login options". |
