Create or upload a workspace skill

Before you start

Choose the workspace that should own the skill. A skill is a bundle with a SKILL.md instruction file and optional supporting files. It does not grant tools.

Steps

  1. Open Plugins → Skills → Workspace and select Add skill.
  2. Edit SKILL.md. Its frontmatter contains name and description; write the agent's steps below the frontmatter. Names use lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens.
  3. In the file tree, select the bundle root or a folder. Use New file or New folder to create inside it. Open files to edit them; expand and collapse folders with the arrow. Rename and Delete apply to the selected tree entry. Deleting a folder requires confirmation and removes its contents. SKILL.md cannot be deleted or renamed.
  4. Upload files adds supporting files inside the selected folder. Binary files are retained even when text editing is unavailable. Import ZIP instead loads a ready-made bundle into the same editor, replacing the current draft's files.
  5. Preview in the top toolbar displays the selected file. Select Edit to return to its source. Version settings contains the draft title, version, status, icon and color.
  6. Save draft keeps your files, empty folders and incomplete instructions in platform storage. Saved drafts are private to your current workspace seat; choose one from Saved drafts to resume later. Saving does not change what agents use.
  7. Publish version validates the complete bundle and makes it available in the workspace. To edit an existing skill, open it and select Edit [name]. Keep its skill name unchanged. A new version number is required. Agents continue using the published version until publication succeeds.

Troubleshooting

  • Name already exists: choose a different filename or folder name.
  • Draft changed: select Reload draft to reopen the saved version before saving; another edit is not overwritten.
  • Invalid bundle: ensure SKILL.md has valid name/description frontmatter and non-empty instructions, and fill or remove empty files before publication.
  • File limits apply to both drafts and published bundles. A refused ZIP does not replace your current draft.
  • Closing with unsaved edits asks whether to keep editing or discard them.
