Plugin tools

Purpose

You may want your default agent to look up stock but never change a price. Allow or block a connected plugin for your default agent, and pick exactly which of its tools it may use.

Before you start

The plugin must be connected. Open it from Settings, then "Plugins". These permissions apply to your default agent; agents you create keep their own tool settings.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then "Plugins", then select the plugin (its row is labeled "[plugin] tools").
  2. Use the "Allow [plugin]" switch to turn the plugin on or off. Turning it off keeps your tool choices for later.
  3. Under "Connection", the plugin shows "Connected". Select the actions button ("Actions for [plugin]") to see the connection and, if you wish, select "Disconnect [plugin]". Disconnecting removes the connection itself, so the plugin is no longer available to future agent runs until you connect it again; turning off "Allow [plugin]" only stops your default agent from using it. If disconnecting fails, an error is shown: try again.
  4. Type in "Search tools" to find a tool. Search text can contain up to 200 characters.
  5. Under "Allowed tools", tick the tools the agent may use. Selected tools are listed first. More tools load as you scroll.

Expected result

Choices are saved at once. Only the ticked tools are available to the default agent. Which plugins and tools are enabled decides what the agent can use.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
"Plugin not connected" Connect the plugin from the Plugins page first.
Tools are greyed out Turn on the "Allow [plugin]" switch.
"No matching tools" Change the search text.
"No tools available" The plugin offers no tools right now.
"Some settings could not be loaded." Select "Retry". An empty page can otherwise look like a disconnected plugin.
