Create and manage a site

Purpose

Parisa needs a small catalog page for the autumn sale, and she would rather describe it than code it. Create a site, tell your agent in its chat what you want, and manage all your sites from one list.

Before you start

Sign in and select the workspace where the site should live. Sites are private: the list shows access as Only you.

Steps

  1. Open Sites in the sidebar and select New. The Create a site dialog opens.
  2. Type the Site name (1 to 120 characters; the field cannot be empty) and select Create site.
  3. The site's chat opens (What would you like to build?). Describe your website or prototype in the box (Describe your site or the next change…) and send it. Your files and the live preview appear as the agent builds.
  4. Go back to Sites to see all sites with their Name, Access and Modified columns. Use Search sites to find one by name.
  5. To work with an existing site, select its options button (Options for [site name]). The menu has Open chat, Live preview, Visit site, Rename and Delete site.
  6. For Rename, type the new name and select Save. For Delete site, read the warning and select Delete site to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.

Expected result

The new site opens in its own chat and appears in the Sites list. Deleting a site removes the site and its preview, and you can no longer open or edit its files.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
Create site or Save is disabled The name is empty. Type a name.
Could not save your changes. Please try again. The dialog stays open. Check your connection and select the button again.
The list says No sites found Your search matched nothing. Try a different name. With no search, Your next idea starts here means no site exists yet.
The site is not what I asked for Creating a site only creates its chat and files. Describe the pages you want in the chat, then check the result in the live preview.
