Keyboard

Purpose

Neda works on the keyboard all day and wants a shortcut for a new chat, but sometimes she presses a shortcut by accident. Turn keyboard shortcuts on or off, all together or one by one.

Before you start

Sign in and select your workspace. This setting is saved for your seat in the current workspace. On Mac, shortcuts use Cmd and Option; on other computers they use Ctrl and Alt.

Steps

  1. Open the account menu in the sidebar and choose Settings (or use the Open settings shortcut listed under Keyboard).
  2. Under App settings, select Keyboard. The row shows On or Off.
  3. Use Enable keyboard shortcuts to turn every shortcut on or off. Its description says: press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac) to search and run commands, and Ctrl+/ (Cmd+/ on Mac) to see every shortcut.
  4. Below it, three groups list each shortcut with its keys and a switch: General, Go to and Chats. Switch off any shortcut you do not want.
  5. When Enable keyboard shortcuts is off, all the individual switches are off and cannot be changed.

Expected result

Changes save as soon as you make them; there is no Save button. These are the shortcuts (Cmd replaces Ctrl on Mac, Option replaces Alt):

Group Action Keys
General Search and run commands Ctrl+K
General Show keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+/
General New chat Ctrl+Shift+O
General Open settings Ctrl+,
General Toggle sidebar Ctrl+B
Go to Chats, Agents, Projects, Plugins, Skills, Library, Images, Sites, Scheduled G then C, A, J, P, S, L, I, W, T (in that order)
Chats Previous chat Alt+Up
Chats Next chat Alt+Down
Chats Delete this chat Ctrl+Shift+Backspace
Chats Focus message box Shift+Esc
Chats Stop reply Esc
