Add and manage skills
Open in AgentumPurpose
Neda's Saturday summary of last week's orders comes out in a different shape every week. Before anyone builds a skill for it, look for one that already does the job: read what is inside, add it to your workspace and try it. A skill is a bundle of instructions and files that an agent loads when a request matches it. It never gives an agent new tools.
Before you start
Sign in and select your workspace.
Steps
- Open "Plugins" in the sidebar and select the "Skills" tab under "Marketplace". Under "Installed" you see the skills already added ("Skills you add will appear here." when there are none).
- Use "Skill scope" to switch between "Public skills" and "Workspace skills". Type in "Search skills" to filter. Skills are grouped by category, such as "Data analysis", "Planning", "Productivity" and "Research". Each row shows how many times it was installed, and a "Disabled" badge when the publisher turned it off.
- Select a skill to open its page. The "Information" list shows the publisher, category, version, visibility, status, number of files, installs, entrypoint, license and compatibility. Under "Bundle contents" select a file to read it.
- Select "Add" (or the plus button on the row). Then "Try in chat" opens a new chat. Ask for a task that needs this skill; the button does not select it automatically. A disabled skill cannot be added or tried.
- To use it in a custom agent, switch it on in the agent's "Skills" section (see "Give an agent skills").
- To take a public skill off your workspace, open the menu on its row or page and choose "Remove skill".
- For a workspace skill you created: select the upload button ("Upload a new [name] version") to replace the bundle with a new version, or open "More actions for [name]" and choose "Delete skill". Confirm "Delete [name]?" with "Delete". This removes the skill and its installations and cannot be undone. A workspace skill is already added, so it has no "Remove skill" and cannot be uninstalled.
Expected result
An added, enabled skill is available to the default agent automatically. A custom agent can use it once you switch it on in the agent's "Skills" section. Agents read its instructions and supporting files only when a request needs them, and only in read-only form.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Add" is disabled | The skill is disabled. Pick another skill or ask its publisher. |
| "Preview is not available for this file type." | Only text-like files can be previewed. |
| The skill is added but the agent does not use it | This applies to custom agents: switch it on in the agent's "Skills" section and save the agent. The default agent uses installed, enabled skills automatically. |
| "No skills found." | Clear the search, or check the other scope. |
